Hello forum,I got this nice collection but have no experience with Orbilias yet. What characters should I look for, please?
I didn't see those orange particles in excipular cells, but I might be wrong. Asci 8-spored, paraphyses fusiform.Â

this is Orbilia carpoboloides (= Habrostictis rubra, = Orbilia piloboloides, = O. lasia).
It is frequently on Ulmus, but also on other trees. Tilia would be the first time, but couldn't it be possible.
Would it be possible to include your collection data in our monograph? The species occurs across Europe and the northwest of N-America, but we have only scattered  data.
What is the pyrenomycete on which it partly grows?
If you could look at the broken wood of the branch: Ulmus is ring-pored with large pores, Tilia has small scattered pores.

I checked the wood structure and you're right, it's not Tilia but Ulmus or Fraxinus. I'll take a photo tomorrow.
The pyrenomycete is not determined yet. However, the photos (made by the collector) are from another twig and this one I was given looks differently (bigger and solitary stromata). I'll try to put it here as well (alas, I have very little practice with those either).

Yes, it is Ulmus: the small pores of the summertime are arranged in tangential rows. See my arrows.
