Sur bouze de vache dans la reserve naturelle du Westhoek je trouve 2 exemplaires de Ascobolus immersus. Un ascome contient que des asques avec 4 spores. Est-ce une anomalie ?

IL m'est arrivé ( raremant ) de trouver seulement en mélange des asques tétrasporés et octosporés, mais jamais uniquement comme dans ton cas. Garde les en herbier.

Yes, this is unusual, but I also already had collections with separate Asci with less than 8 spores under the microscope. If me everything is not deceptive one sees in the asci stunted spores or their rests. V. Brummelen also writes in his world- monograph: " ... but very often with only a part of the spores developed ... "
