Key for the Genus Delitschia
Peter Thompson,
21-12-2013 21:18
Does anyone have a key to species in the genus Delitschia, please?
I have found pseudothecia with spores in the range 30.5 - 36.25 x 13.25 - 17.5um.
All of the species which I can find in the literature have spores which are either smaller or larger than these.
Thank you,
Peter.

Hello Peter,
Thank you for the Delitschia key.
I can understand enough of the German words to work through the small part of the first page, which I need to resolve my query.
I arrive at 5c, D. lamprorhynchia.
Wishing you a Happy Christmas,
Peter.

Re : Key for the Genus Delitschia
Hello Peter,
I'll attache the description of Delitschia lamprorhynchia (Luck-Allen & Cain, 1975), so that you can compare.
It's a species with an orange-colored tomentum!
If your species doesn't have a tomentum it could also be D. variispora (32-42 x 11-18).
Some questions you should answer if you want to determine species of the genus Delitschia:
Are the ascospores uniseriate or biseriate in the asci?
Are they transversely or obliquely uniseptate and are they deeply constricted or not?
Is there a tomentum?
Best wishes
Norbert
