Disco on mud
Malcolm Greaves, 27-07-2017 14:27
Malcolm GreavesCan someone suggest a genus/species for this cream coloured disco found on a muddy path in mixed woodland.
The largest fruitbody was 2mm across sessile or very short stalk.
Ascii blued at the tip and sometimes swollen towards the base and looks to have croziers.
Spores 7.5 x 3.4
Thanks
Mal

Re : Disco on mud
Difficult to say. I would need living asci and paraphyses for a better idea. Also a section would be helpful- Perhaps a Pezoloma?

Re : Disco on mud
Now I see the refractive VBs in the living paraphyses. So this reminds me of Phaeohelotium imberbe which is lignicol. Is there any immersed piece of wood on which it grew?

Re : Disco on mud
Thanks Zotto. Breaking open the lump of mud did reveal a piece of wood.
