Hello.A Pleosporal symbiotic organism located and
Calonectria (?) on wood
Martin Bemmann,

last weekend I found these minute ascocarps (0.25 mm dm.) on an indet. piece of wood stained by Chlorociboria (some immature apothecia were present).
The spores are fusiform without clear septa and filled with small oildrops.
Is a determination possible without culture?
Best regards
Martin

Re : Calonectria (?) on wood
Hi Martin
did you consider Tubeufia cerea? I suspect if you add Melzer or CB you will clearly see the septa.

Ciao Erio,
most probably the same. I didn't find the time to check the septa, yet. Hope to do this at the weekend (in case something is left of the specimens....)
Cheers

Ciao Martin, Hi Zotto,
ok Martin.
Erio
PS: in the macrophoto the ascomycete on the left is an Orbilia.

Re : Calonectria (?) on wood
Hyalorbilia I presume. There were also some on my collection but they were vanished the next day... :-(

Martin

Re : Calonectria (?) on wood
Hi Erio
Clearly an Orbilia (because of bifurcate ascus base and capitate paraphyses), and obviously O. eucalypti (= O. alnea, = O. coccinella s. auct.)
