Old problem? Herpotrichia herpotrichoides

Hi again,before I take new photos of the "mysterious" Diaporthales I had a new fungus on Rubus fruticosus, I think it is Herpotrichia herpotrichoides, the only thing I did not see were the 3-septating mature spores. All in all the finding is comparable with the description of H. herpotrichoides in BARR (1984, Mycotaxon 20 (1)). But perhaps you can help me with a different opinion ;)
Fruitbody is a sphaerical Pseudothecia partly embedded into the cortex, black, with black hyphoid structures.
Spores 19-23,5x5-7 µm, hyaline, with 2-7 vacuoles, constantly with a central septation, smooth, endings pointed. Asci 100-130x10-15 µm, with 8 spores in biseriate arrangement, short stalked, bitunicate. Paraphyses hyaline, septating, some branched.
On Rubus fruticosus.

additional notes: the spores are surrounded by a hyaline gel sheath, especially by spores in asci.

Hi Kazuya,
I don't think your fungus is H. herpotrichoides which is different in being superficial, associated with a conspicuous tomentum, with fusiform ascospores. Moreover, its ascomata are big, up to 650 µm dim.
I guess your fungus is smaller, partly immersed, and its spores are in the size range of Massarina rubi, which is common on Rubus. You should test this possibility.

Massarina rubi (Fuckel) Sacc. was recently recombined as Lophiotrema rubi (Fuckel) Yin. Zhang, C.L. Schoch & K.D. Hyde (2009).
