This work was based in Scotland where there is an outbreak of these fungi on Scots pine. We are interested in hearing about other records of these fungi (from throughout the world!) and from other Pinaceae hosts (so far known from Pinus, Picea, Abies and Larix).
Please keep a look out for it and please can you let us know if you find it. We are particularly interested in records on Abies right now.
Normal collection data is required: Species ID, host, location (with lat/long data please, and altitude if possible), habitat (e.g. pine forest etc), substrate (e.g. small branch, trunk, living etc), date, collector, specimen number.
Please check for adelgids under the stromata and please retain your specimens.
You can contact us at: jtaylor2@rbge.org.uk and sarah.green@forestresearch.gov.uk
Thank you!
Joanne Taylor
