Anamorf on decaying leaves of Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus'
Pol Debaenst, 21-12-2025 21:32
Hello,

Garden, Burgweg 19, Veurne, Belgium
On 10/12/2025 I found anamorf fungi on decaying leaves of Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus'
- Conidiomata black, pustular, on both sides of the leaf but mainly on the underside, 0,2-0,4 mm Ø; few specimen were sparsely 'hairy' (see photo's 5 and 6)
- Conidia brown, ellipsoid to ovoid, 1-septate, rarely 2-septate, with a (slightly) thick septum, 17,5-24,5(-28) x 9,1-11,2 µm

Thanks in advance for determination.

Good evening Pol,

Maybe compare to Cladosporium macrocarpum?

Regards,

François

Hi,
Cladosporium is an hyphomycete.
Here is a pycnidial morph, closed to Diplodia (s.l.)

Hello,

It looks like a Dothiorella species (Botryosphaeriaceae), most likely Dothiorella sarmentorum, which is documented on Euonymus.

Regards,

Albert
