Round spores asco
Malcolm Greaves, 02-12-2025 18:59
Malcolm GreavesThis pair of ascos 2.5cm across were on recently burned wet heathland. The round spores 12u were covered in warts. The asci were somewhat blued in Meltzers and the swollen tips of the paraphyses look to be enclosed in a gelatinous sheath. Any help woul be appreciated. Thanks

Greetings,
Marek.

The apothecia look as if there was some very intensive rain on the heathland. The upper parts of the paraphyses should be covered with brown amorphous matter, but it seems to have disappeared... :-)
