Amicodisca svrcekii ?
Ethan Crenson, 10-10-2025 00:49
Hello all,

This was found last weekend on a hardwood branch in the mud in a dried out pond.  I believe it is Amicodisca svrcekii, but confirmation would be very helpful.

The apothecia are very small, probably 0.2-0.4mm with bright green hairs and an olive green hymenium.

Asci IKI+, biseriate in the asci, 50-69 x 7.7-8.9µm— some fully formed asci had no spores.

Spores aseptate in the ascus and considerably smaller than the (sometimes) 1-septate loose spores that were present, 9.4-15.7 x 3.2-4.1µm

Hairs yellow, encrusted, narrowing at the ends, but not sharply pointed

Ethan

Hi Ethan,

yes I would say so, this is more rare than virella in my experience.

Yours has a bit longer asci than my collection but are no obstacle for me.

Cheers, Stip
