I need help with a determination of one interesting species of Peziza. It seems to me like Peziza ampelina, but I have just a little experience with this genus.

And, btw., this post is the first activity on the Ascofrance for me, so forgive me for occasional mistakes... :)

The fungus grew on the rotten trunk of Tilia which fell into the creek, collected 2.5.2020, altitude cca 360 meters.

Apothecia (photo 1, 2) max. 60 mm on average, growth singly or exceptionally in clusters (photo 3), without stem, yielding whitish opalescent fluid substance after scratching the surface (photo 4), insides winy-violaceous and turning brownish-violaceous with age, outer side light ochraceous (or fawn?), a little scurfy.

Micro (fresh material):

Excipulum with textura globulosa (photo 5), sometimes text. angularis? (photo 6), maybe text. intricata too.

Asci (photo 7) with Me = 348.2 × 15.4 µm; N = 6.

Ascospores oval or elliptical, smooth, with 2 guttules (photo 8) and/or with many small guttules (photo 9), Me = 21.1 × 11.7 µm; Qe = 1.8; N = 30, into an ascus with „polar caps" (photo 10), which can be off-center placed (photo 11).

I will be very happy if you look at the photos and confirm the hypothesis or point elsewhere.

Dear Marek,

I also think that this is Peziza ampelina. The hyalin polar caps of the spores, when they are still in the ascus, is caracteristic.

Macroscopically, your collection is also very similar to the 2 observations I have made of this nice species.
