Black pyrenos on herbaceous stem
Juuso Äikäs, 27-02-2020 12:28
There were plenty of these growing on a dead herbaceous stem on the side of an open, grassy area. The spores measure about 40-60 x 6.5-8 microns, conidia 4-5 x 1.5. No iodine reactions. What might they be?

Re : Black pyrenos on herbaceous stem
I think I managed to stumble on the right species myself: Leptosphaeria acuta seems like a good candidate.

A species somewhere in Phaeosphaeriaceae, but not Leptosphaeria acuta, shape of ascomata doesn't fit.

Do ascospore have little hyaline apical appendages ? I seem to see them on your fourth photo.
