Hello,

Could you give measures for the hairs? What about MLZ and CB reactions? Study carefully excipular cells and hairs for any staining small nodules (MLZ dark or CB+). Looks almost like having croziers, can you confirm?  -"Psilocistella"... No more precise opinion at this moment.

hi Timo,

I would say it is croziers but ist actully very hard to tell for sure.
in melzer i couldent se any reaction but in cotton blue it was a yellowgrren rect in the bottom fo apotecium.

see foto, the hairs is 5 um wide and hard to tell but 60-80 um long

Re : on old bark of populus
ok.

The green colour is most probably an artefact of the yellow pigment of the apo combining with blue.

I can only say "Psilocistella" with relatively big spores. The thin-walled, not-glassy multiseptate hairs with round apex is the uniting character in this group. but but... I am not saying these species make a nice (monophyletic) genus. It seems more complicated.

--btw. Did the apothecia (hymenia) turn reddish brown when mature/dry?

You can check Baral's folder for Psilocistella. And also Luis Quijada had recently an article on Psilocistellas (Quijada et al 2014. Is Psilocistella quercina (Velen.) Svr?ek a good taxon?). And as usual, the sequence material coverage for this part of Hyaloscyphaceae is intriguingly low.

Please carry on! :-)

Ok,

I have tryed Baral's folder and Quijada et al 2014. no clear fit. To big spores and big harris combined with Spore. Maybe i could send it for a sequencing ITS-region and put it in official hebraria if it will help in the future?

The apotecium is orange/ brown dry.
