Spore dimensions are provided in PDF.
Me = 18.8 × 9.5 ?m; Qe = 2
Spores very uniform. I have not met with a length of more than 20 microns.
I didn't measure ornamentation.
With Ascobolus I have no experience, so any tips are welcome.

A.folliicola normally has a small stalk at the base of the apothecium and a well marked and overflowing margin. Compares with A.crenulatus, the substrate is not well defined.

The fruiting bodies now harvested grew on the ground, covered with a thick layer of mulch and leaves falling from trees.
Maybe this is the reason for their unusual appearance?

I am not sure if it was this species but A. crenulatus probably already microscopic. It seems to me that the spore ornamentation is definitely finer and denser. (see pictures)
