Re : Hyaloscypha near to hyalina?
I think that your fungus is a Lasiobelonium

regards,

Luis

Raitviir (The Genus Lasiobelonium, Scripta Mycologica 9, 1980):
"Svrcek (1958: 227) has described a species Lachnum pseudocorticale with elongated-fusoid spores measuring 13-19(20)x3-3,5 µm and rarely becoming 2-4-celled. The asci are said to be 80-110x6,5-7,5 µm. It is probably a good species belonging to L. variegatum series, but without any material seen I can make no taxonomic judgement."
A list of findings in Alpi Marittime natural park

http://www.atbi.eu/mercantour-marittime/?q=node/13&tree_s=572056

names Lasiobelonium pseudocorticale (Svreck) Baral
So anywhere I think, H.O.Baral made the correction to include Svrcek's Lachnum pseudocorticale in the Genus Lasiobelonium.
Index Fungorum has no report of Lasiobelonium pseudocorticale.
I think, my M170410-04 from Austria, Wienerwald, a mountain called Anninger, on Fraxinus excelsior fits very well to Lasiobelonium pseudocorticale.

Isn't Lasiobelonium pseudocorticale restricted to conifer wood?: http://www.ascofrance.com/search_forum/29425

If I understand correctly your find was on Fraxinus?

Dear Chris,

Svrcek's typus is described from Picea excelsa, indeed. But his spec. nov. he calls Lachnum pseudocorticale, not Lasiobelonium corticale.
Svrcek mentions findings of this Lachnum corticale not only from Picea excelsa, but
also from Fraxinus excelsior (Morawa) and Salix stump or burnt wood*) from Czech Republik near Praha.
*) as I understand the original description:
na d?ev? vrbového nebo jasanového pa?ezu u potoka v údolí pod Zadní Kopaninou u Prahy.

Learning from Zotto, I have doupt, to beliefe in one and the same species growing on coniferous wood and broadleaved wood.

Your link to the species from Madiera may show a different species.

So, I did not come to an end with my M170410-04, definatively.

Greetings!
Matthias

Hi Matthias,

I think your species is not L. pseudocorticale. I know this from Abies wood in the "Schwäbischer Wald" as well as from Croatia. All my finds were from still quite hard, wet wood lying in rivulets.  If you want I can send you pictures of this.

Viele Grüße von Lothar
