Cheilymenia confirmation please
Chris Yeates, 06-11-2015 17:25
Chris YeatesBonjour tous
This Cheilymenia was recorded on dung of highland cattle collected at 320 metres altitude and incubated for one month.
I think it is Cheilymenia coprinaria, based on lack of red pigments, hair type and length (up to 700µm) and spore shape and size. The only negative is that I have not yet seen apothecia more than 2.5mm in diameter. I would welcome comments.
amitiés
Chris

Re : Cheilymenia confirmation please
Yes, this is a Cheilymenia, but you have to check the spore ornamentation with Cotton Blue. The structure of the excipulum is also important (two types of textura or not).
