Plagiostoma on Salix

I believe this is a Plagiostoma growing on a Salix branch. The straight and clearly constricted ascospores don't really match any of the species I compared with. The closest species seems to be Plagiostoma salicicola. What do you think?
Asci are floating freely. Ascospores: no appendages observed, 16–21 x 5–7 µm.
Best wishes,
Gernot

Re : Plagiostoma on Salix
Hi Gernot,
In my opinion, the closest species is Plagiostoma convexum. In any case, that is what I would have called it in 2011 following the work of Mejia et al. But at that time, I collected a large number of Plagiostoma from Salix and sent a large batch to Donald Walker, who had resumed research on the genus. Unfortunately, he changed his research focus. The study of Plagiostoma is more complex than it appears and must be based on sound molecular studies.
Best wishes,
Alain

Re : Plagiostoma on Salix
Thank you, Alain, I appreciate your expertise. I wasn't aware that this genus is still quite difficult.
Best wishes,
Gernot
