Boinjour tousThis was found on the underside of a decorticated piece of small Quercus branch.
Most paraphyses were only slightly swollen at apex and were embedded in a terminal amorphous matrtix, as can be seen in the accompanying images.
Ascospores mostly parallel-sided, curved and with a relatively short spore-body; half the ascospores lying in a reversed position.
Guidance appreciated . . .

not easy! Could you please make a sectio through the margin? The orientation of the cels is important and also the presence of glassy processes.
Any conidia observed?
In the worst case it is O. auricolor.

I'll have a go, but compared to many on ASCOFrance my section-cutting skills are a bit rubbish. Looking at your 'auricolor sl.' folder it looks close . . .
I have a number of finds from yesterday to work through but I shall come back to this one.
