I think I have no doubt about the identification of this Peziza, but it was growing in a perfectly identificable Fagus sylvatica rest of wood. Is it ussual?


Hymenium with violet-pink color, excipulum light-yellow, aqueous latex, first hyaline and then yellowish.


Asci euamyloid with croziers.


Spores eliptical, biguttulated, yellowish at maturity, ornamented with ridges (0.4) 0.43 - 0.6 (0.8) µm; Me = 0.5 µm tall, without reticulum, (14.2) 15.4 - 17.0 (17.8) x (8.1) 8.4 - 9.7 (10.1) µm; Q = (1.6) 1.7 - 1.9 (2.0) ; N = 65; Me = 16.2 x 9.0 µm ; Qe = 1.8.
