Peziza on wood (Quercus pyrenaica)
Rodríguez Borja, 05-06-2014 20:19
Rodríguez BorjaHi everybody!

I have these cupulate apothecia (2cmm long) with small stipe and yellow-brown hymenium and dark brown margin formed by anastomosed hiphae, not really hairs (these were only and rare in the ectal excipulun and were hyaline).

Asci up to 300 x 14 µm, octoscporic, uniseriate and with crosiers. IKI +
Paraphyses up to 270 x 4 µm, a bit shorter than asci, with VBs and pale yellow pigment, some apicaly branched and this not bigger than 4 µm.

Spores ellipsoid, Me: 18-19 x 10-10.5 µm Qe: 1.8, with few isolated warts, somewhat larger at the poles, with the characteristic apex flattened and no gutules.

Subhymenium with textura intricata, medullar excipulum with textura globulosa and ectal excipulum with textura globulosa-intrincata not very different from medulla. A single layer or two if counting the excipulum and subhymenium.

I have thought about P.pseudovesiculosa, arvernensis, or pseudosylvestris but I think the spore shape don´t fits well and the excipulum layers..

Thanks a lot!
