Very small (~0,5 mm) white ascos, found yesterday
I found these perithecia growing on the surface of hardwood.
The size is about 270um in diameter, with a long neck up to 400um.
The perithecial surface is covered with abundant hair.
Asci, difficult to see, seem tetrasporic.
The spores are ellipsoidal with a truncate apex.
I consult my bibliography, and I think it may be Arxiomyces vitis, but I have no description to the species. I believe that is described in:
"A re-evaluation of Melanospora Pyrenomycetes Corda and similarly, with a review of the British species CANNON1 F. PAUL, DAVID L. Hawksworth FLS
Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society
Volume 84, Issue 2, pages 115-160, February 1982 "
Can anyone confirm or reject the determination?
Anyone have the document mentioned?
Thanks, a greeting
Susana (Spain)
