Vibrissea? on a cranberry leaf
Marja Pennanen, 09-07-2013 08:40
Hello again,

after finding this leaf, I tried to find some more of these, but had no luck.
The fungi are about 0,5 mm wide.
The spores are filiform, about 20-30x1 and may be septate, can't be sure.
The asci are about 50-70x5 and propably IKI-.

This may be some Vibrissea, but the few descriptions I have, contained no such species.

So, help is needed: Marja

Hello, Marja,

looks like Lophodermium, probably L. oxycocci, there is its fine description in IMI Descriptions..

Nina.

Yes,

you are right. Thank you.
These fooled me by being totally open and round. I did not let them to dry and show their real nature ;)

The species is not even new for me, got a collection on Vaccinium uliginosum from 2009.
