Notes on one collections: Spores slightly clavate, 9 x 3,6 µm, multiguttulate. Asci long-stalked, 8-spored, bb, massive broad plug; with croziers. Paraphyses very slender, extending (in gel?) above asci. Asci 97,5 x 7 µm, widest near apex. The microphotos attached are from this collection. The macro-shot is another collection.
We are stuck - maybe you are not :-)

good question. Sometimes on old weathered Picea wood (or pinus) with algal slime etc, sometimes directly on/in basidiomata of corticiaceous fungi.

maybe Jens can also supply information. He photographed the same thing years back. I would say hyphoid and with some gel. Apo diam ca 0.5-1 mm; always pale to dark olive on the hymenium and vinaceous pink below.

great finding, you should sequence it. It looks like Ascocoryne olivaceo-purpurea nom. prov. probably related to A. turficola with green VBs in the paraphyses. This I can not see clear from Jens photos, aybe he can confirm this. A few years ago (2011) there was a collection in the Netherlands on Larix branch which I could study alive only with broader asci and spores asci: Croziers+ 105-112x8,5-11, spores 9,5-12x4,5-5. Neven made an attempt to sequence this collection but I do not know the outcome.
the gel layer is KOH + MLZ bleu (left over night in KOH)

Stip, do you see differences to my Ombrophila lilacina folder? This is quite a common plurivorous species, also known as Neobulgaria lilacina, growing infrequently together with Orbilia xanthostigma.

macroscopically your lilacina seems to be quite different both in shape and in the colouration of the hymenium.

I don't think so. My sketch of HB 5614 looks quite like your second collection. HB 5630a has the olivaceous disc. Some are sessile, others stalked. I don't see a problem.

we will soon have a result as we have ITS sequences of two documented samples.
I saw sometimes a rough spore surface, and quite much of variability, but I am used with these problems :-)

Nobody more than you. Is the name Ombrophila lilacina available for this taxon in your opinion and which genus should it be accomodated in?

This is a too difficult question at the moment. For an Ombrophila it is not gelatinous enough. But we must also restudy the type to be sure we ar speaking of the same fungus.
