Podospora
Malcolm Greaves, 13-02-2015 01:22
Malcolm GreavesThis Podospora was on horse dung. At first I was convinced it was P. globosa as the spores looked to have a pelicel surrounded by a mucilaginous covering but no sign of appendages.
Although the spores were a little big at 48-50 x 25 it seemed the most likely even though it is very rare in the uk.
A couple of days later with more mature specimens the appendages became more obvious and although difficult to capture I am now sure it is P intestinacea. The spores were also larger at 60 x 30.

Re : Podospora
Hello Malcon,
I was looking in Lundqvist's monograph about P. intestinacea and I agree with you.

Hi Mal

This agrees with a collection I made in 2012 and another last week, both on pony dung.
