Bernard DeclercqHi there,

Recently collected parasitic fungus on Trametes versicolor:
Perithecia globose, 0.20-0.25 mm diam., papillate, pale yellow to honey-coloured, densely crowded, forming a layer above the substrate hymenium, KOH-.
Asci cylindric-clavate, biseriately 8-spored, 51-54x6-7 µm, IKI-.
Ascospores clavate to subclavate, straight to slightly curved, 7-11x2.5-3.5 µm, 0(1)-septate, smooth, hyaline.
I did not find a good name for this Hypomyces-like asomycete. Your help is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Bernard

Re : no Hypocreales sp. but Gelatinopsis fungicola
Salut Christian,

Revision of my collection showed that in fact the small ascomata are discoid and pulvinate. So, I was looking in the wrong class.
I did not succeed to find asci but, based on the substrate and the very characteristic constricted spores with stalk-like lower hemispore, I easely arrived, with the excellent documentation of Zotto, to Gelatinopsis fungicola, apparently a rare species.

All the best,

Bernard
