Susporanggial swelling: ovoid

Upper convex surface of sporangium has a pattern i.a.w. fig. 96, page 189; Researches on fungi volume VI (158) by Reginald Buller. 

Spores: ovoid; 12,5-13.0x10.5-11.0 um

Hello Joop,

this should be Pilobolus oedipus with twin walled spores. It's a typical species on horse dung. P. longipes has very large fruitbodies, up to 30 mm long!

Thanks for the documentation it is very useful.

Besides that the photo of the columella does not fit with P. oedipus so it originates from another species and can be ignored. 

It probably belongs to  a P. crystallinus species.
