Gernot FriebesHi,do you think this collection could be R. ulmari
Laetinaevia spec. ? on Euphorbia cyparissias in Southern Germany

I first thought this should be Laetinaevia tithymalina, but the micros do not fit this species, nor does another species described by Hein.
I made my first slide in Kongo-SDS to stain the structures. The spores are about 15-19/4-5,5 µm large and become 1- to 3-septate at maturity. The asci are very beautifully hemiamyloid.
Does somebody have a hint?
Yours. Lothar

Hi Lothar
these asci do not look helotialean to me. Are you sure with hemiamyloid? Or is it rather a congophilous stain? Check KOH pretreatment to clarify this. The asci remind me of a Bionectriaceae, but the macro shows apothecia.

I am sure with hemiamyloid asci. You see in the first pictures (without IKI) that the ascus apices are not red.
Thanks for your thoughts and the tip with the KOH pretreatment.
Best regards, Lothar
