Lennert GeesGreetings!For my master's dissertation I work on c
Coussin blanc, tanslucide, diametre max 1,5mm
Paraphyses filiformes, avac vacuoles

This is a nice find. The presence of dense guttules / VB-like structures in the paraphyses here indicates it is not very close to D. schimperi / Helotium vasaense, which are probably sister taxa. However, I have only examined one (fresh) collection each of these so my experience is limited, but I observed paraphyses lacking this type of guttulation.
Perhaps Bryoscyphus s.l. is closer. 4-spored asci are unusual but there are some collections of undescribed species in Zotto's folder that are 4-spored: "B. tetrasporus" nom. prov.
The Helotiales on bryophytes are a difficult group morphologically. Do you think it will be possible to sequence this collection? Were there many apothecia?
All the best,
George
Effectively Zotto's folder 'Brioscyphus tetrasporus' seems to fit quite well with my finding.
I have kept few apothecia in the fridge. They are available for a sequence if you wish. As long as you tell me where and how to send them.
