Hi,
I found a few in two groups on lepus dropping.
Sessile without being sunken, not stromatic, closed, globose with prominent setae, black. Up to 100 µm diam. Peridium of +/- uniform cells. The special setae are primarily in the upper approx. third. They are stiff, relatively short and wide, thick-walled, with transverse walls. Dark brown. The tip is divided into 3-5(?) strong branches. Some unbranched setae are also seen. Paraphyses cylindrical w/transverse walls, 1.5-2.5 µm wide. Asci 8-spored, J-, look like double-walled, 28-37 x 7-9(11) µm. Spores hyaline, foot-shaped, 2-celled with constriction at the septum. Uppermost cell widest, no sheath seen, 10-12 x 4.1-4.6 µm.
Included in my considerations are W. fimbriatus and W. sibiricus. And perhaps Neocoleroa inundata, but I think the spores don't fit.
Thank you for any help!
Karen
