Lachnellula question
Maria Plekkenpol, 16-01-2023 19:31
Maria PlekkenpolHello,
I have a question regarding Lachnellula calycina: in the Netherlands we still seperate L. calycina and L. resinaria.
The other day I found a Lachnellula and using the key from 2008, I saw that there was only L. resinaria var calycina.
Is this indeed now the species? And does L. calycina no longer exist as a species?
Thank you!

Maria

Re : Lachnellula question
You cna do as you want, either a var. or a species. I was once convinced that the spore shape is a bit variable and that the two taxa are not clear cut. But later I saw that most collections are easily referrable to one of the two. So I concluded that they merit specific rank.
