Re : orange perithecia on Didymodon cordatus and Barbula unguiculata
Great !
Please compare to 'Nectria" muscivora (not a Nectria s.s.)

Dear Csaba,
very nice collection, I think Alain is right.
It would be interesting to cultivate and sequence your fungus because we know that it is not the Nectria genus. If you wish, you can send me your collection, previously dried at room temperature.

Dear Alain and Christian,
Thank you very much for your help! Regarding sequencing, of course I can send some material to you, Christian. How many ascomata would you need?

Re : orange perithecia on Didymodon cordatus and Barbula unguiculata
Hello together,
a very nice fungus - I found it once when making my dissertation. I then made a foto (dia), the scan is the only left thing I have, not good but recognizable.
I look up: the find was 6.2.1995, on Pterygoneurum ovatum on a Muschelkalk-limestone-rock in Lower Franconia (Southern Germany).
Best regards, Lothar

Re : orange perithecia on Didymodon cordatus and Barbula unguiculata
Yes, very nice indeed. Thanks Lothar for sharing your collection. Peter Döbbeler (1978) reported it to grow on several moss species, including B. unguiculata and P. ovatum.
Christian, I will send the samples soon.
Best, Csaba
