Geopora cervina?
William Slosse, 01-10-2020 21:41
William SlosseHello,
I found this asco today on the swampy bottom of a dry dune pool. It grew near Salix repens (dwarfism)

Apothecia:
outside covered with tousled hair; sessile; first globose; opening splitted in irregular lobes; max 11mm (unfolded).

Asci:
no blue reaction in Melzer

Spores:
(28.21) 25.17 (23.03) x (17.02) 14.73 (13.27) (N = 18); ellipsoid; smooth; with 1 large oil drop each time.

Could this be Geopora cervina?

Re : Geopora cervina?
Hola Joseba, the spores de Humaria contienen 2 gotas de aceite y no son suaves en mi opinión.

Re : Geopora cervina?
William,

Je pense qu'il s'agit de Geopora arenicola.

Re : Geopora cervina?
Hello
It is difficult to define the genre in this case because there is no specific study and there are very large discrepancies depending on the author.
However, I would propose to rely on work
Trond Schumacher - Notes on taxonomy, ecology, and distribution of operculate discomycetes (Pezizales) from river banks in Norway.
It is certainly not G. cervina. This genre has more narrow spores.
G. arenicola does not suit me very well either: habitat and dimensions of the ascomat ???
I do not want to suggest anything but I recommend that you read the description of G. tenuis in the quoted work.

Re : Geopora cervina?
Merci pour votre reaction, Jacky.
La différence entre les deux especes n'est effectivement pas simple et se produit entre autre sur la base de la forme des spores. Assez subjectif à mon avis.
And these species were clearly not growing on/in sand but on a muddy mat of rhizomes of Typha latifolia.
Je vais demander de la littérature et approfondir mes connaissances.
Cordialemant,
William

Re : Geopora cervina?
thanks for your clarification and literature suggestion, Mirek.
I do not have immediate experience with this genus.

Re : Geopora cervina?
Today I made some new shots of the hairs. Do these bring more clarity?

Re : Geopora cervina?
Hi
If you want to compare it with mine. I named them Geopora sp. Because of the dimensions of the spores that do not quite fit Schumacher's description:
