"Nectria" on old Ganoderma applanatum
Lothar Krieglsteiner, 13-08-2020 19:44
Lothar Krieglsteiner... last week in the Eifel (Germany). It looks macroscopically like forms of the old "Nectria episphaeria" or like "N." cosmariospora on Inonotus. Does there exist a species that ist confined to or prefering Ganoderma as a substrate? I did not examine the specimen with the microscope by now and it is quite likely the perithecia are all old - but I would do it if there is a chance to say: yes, it is this species. Who can help?
Best regards, Lothar

Re : "Nectria" on old Ganoderma applanatum
such old Ganoderma applanatum are often "infested" with Albertiniella polyporicola so that could also be the host of the nectrioid
cheers

Hello Thomas,
thanks for your proposal. But - I know Albetiniella polyporicola, and this was definitely not on the polypore and cannot be the host of the Nectria. It is growing on the Ganoderma.
Best regards, Lothar
