Pink Orbilia with tiny spores
Juuso Äikäs, 14-07-2020 12:27
These Orbilias I found growing on a fallen, decorticated trunk of Sorbus sp., over a meter above the ground.

Spore measurements (inside asci):

(2.6) 2.8 - 3 (3.1) × (1.5) 1.54 - 1.7 (1.9) µm
Q = (1.5) 1.6 - 1.9 (2) ; N = 10
Me = 2.9 × 1.7 µm ; Qe = 1.7

Did I get lucky and find the anamorph (last pic)?

Re : Pink Orbilia with tiny spores
Hmm, the minute spores suggest O. cejpii.

Re : Pink Orbilia with tiny spores
Thanks again, that seems to be a good fit. The anamorphs apparently should be tuning fork -shaped, so my pic is probably something else.

Re : Pink Orbilia with tiny spores
This is possible, but such conidia also occur in the group of ellipsoid-spored species. e.g. in O. liliputiana.
