Anthostomella ?

Hola,
Gracias, saludos
Susana

Re : Anthostomella ?
Dear Susana,
your images are excellent and leave no doubt it is an Anthostomella.
I used the key to worldwide species proposed by Lu & Hyde (2000) but I did not reach a satisfying match.
The point is that the spores do have a tiny cellular appendage, maybe two, that can be very easily overlooked. Anyway both options lead to a dead end.
The presence of a gelatinous sheath is also a discriminating character thay would be useful. Your last image suggests the presence of such a wide sheath winthin the ascus but it woukd be more informative to show the sheath surrounding free ascospores in India ink.
It's a difficult genus with species often just delimited by minor morphological differences. Also many undescribed species...
Cheers,
Jacques

Re : Anthostomella ?
Gracias Jacques,

sorry Susana,
it is a big book nearly 400 pp and I don't have a pdf version. Maybe someone on the forum does...
