Hello all
I found yesterday, on the bark of a dead Fraxinus.
He looked interesting. However, during microscopy it turned out to be probably an anamorph. I have no idea.
Maybe you know something more about him ??
greetings
Mirek
the microphoto is anamorph of Dermea tulasnei, in my country either terribly overlooked in the past or spreading recently (maybe due to ash dieback disease). There should be olivegreen gel (or yellowish brown in old pycnids). Both morphs release yellowish red colour in KOH.
But the macro looks a bit wrong, too dark, too much like separate fruitbodies instead of one multilocular pyknid. Is it possible that you have also Tympanis columnaris there?
Viktorie
I don't know what species Fraxinus is. Only a fragment of the trunk with roots remained from the tree. There are live trees nearby. As the leaves grow, I can identify them if it is so important.
In the evening I will check the reaction to KOH and try to take additional macro photos.
Thank you
Mirek
