Iodophanus Key

bonjour forum, does anybody have a key for or further experience with iodophanus? we have no experience with the genus, but for the usual carneus our spores are too big and broad-elipsoid (22-24 x 14-16). also the paraphyses are swollen apical sometimes up to 13!
merci beaucoup
dirk

Re:Iodophanus Key
Hallo
Here is the key from Kimbrough and al. in American J. Bot. 1969. My xerox copy is too bad to get a readable scan. SO if anybody can afford a good one, it will be nice.
A. ascospores mostly 30µ or longer. B
A. ascospores shorter. C
B. spores 27-38x20-25 µ, with tack-shaped markings up to 5.0 µ high.I. bermudensis
B. spores 31-35x10-18 µ, with punctate markings less than 1.0 µ in diam. I. durbanensis
C. ascospores smooth, epispore often wrinkled and cyanophilous in cotton blue. I. difformis
C. ascospores with callose-pectic markings. D
D. spore markings less than 0.8 µ, punctate, ends of spores without apiculi or much larger markings. E
D. spores not as above. G
E. ascospores 22-27x14-16 µ, apothecia brownish. I. verrucosporus
E. ascospores smaller, apothecia not brownish. F
F. ascospores 15-20x7.5-10.5 µ, narrowly ellipsoid, excipulum of doliform to elongate cells. coprophilous. I. carneus
F. ascospores 18-22.5x11-14.5 µ, broadly ellipsoid, excipulum of globose, yellowish cells. non coprophilous. I. testaceus
G. ends of spores with apiculi or aggregations of much larger markings. H
G. spores with tack-shaped or rounded markings 1.0 to 2.5 µ. I
H. ascospores 23-27x14-16 µ, markings 0.5µ with clusters 2.0 µ high at each end. I. granulipolaris
H. ascospores 19-25x9.5-11 µ, markings 1.0-1.5 µ and apiculi up to 5.0µ at each end. I. crustaceus
I. asci 300 µ or longer, spore markings 1.0-2.0 µ, rounded, densely covering spores. I. sarcobius
I. asci shorter, spore markings small, tack-shaped. I. helotinus
You can also find a recent key in Fungi fimicoli italici by Doveri, Carotti & Cacialli, both in italian and english. It, is a major work for fimicolous species (basidios and ascos). It has just been reissued.
I only have experience with I. carneus on rabbit dung and I. testaceus on rotten straw.
François
