I need help with an Anthostomella species on grass. It measures 0,35 mm, I think without a clypeus. Spores 12-14 x 4,2-5 µm, with germslit, whole sporelength, hyalin dwarfcell (2 x 1,2 µm), without sheat, asci 85 x 8 µm, apical ring up to 2 x 1,2 µm.

Re : Anthostomella sp.
Hi Maren,
based on your accurate description of all important characters it should be easy to identify. By the way the clypeus is reduced but does exist.
I run it through Lu & Hyde's key in their world monograph (2000) and got to A. sabiniana Francis which has clearly differently shaped ascospores, more broadly ellipsoid x 5-7 µm.
Again a dead end, as often with this genus, perhaps more recent literature should be consulted.
Cheers,
Jacques

Re : Anthostomella sp.
Hi Jacques,
thank you for your opinion. I didn't realize that there actually is a clypeus, I have to check on that.
I've tried to use the key of Lu & Hyde you mentionend, but I don't have it complete. The paper on the Internet (http://hub.hku.hk/bitstream/10722/35573/1/FullText.pdf?accept\u003d1) is lacking page 14, the beginning of the key and other pages. Could you provide me with page 14.
