Lirellae on Quercus lignum
Jenny Seawright, 21-05-2015 20:50
Jenny SeawrightHello all,

I wonder if anyone might be able to help with the identity of these lirellae among pycnidia on the lignum of a dead Quercus?

The spores were hyalaline, 3-5(6) septate, 20-26 x (3.5)4-5.5 µm, the ends +/- pointed, Paraphyses were slender with no swollen or pigmented tips. KoH + Lugols appeared to give no reaction.

The spores are too pointed for any lignum Opegrapha species but despite going through Boehm's Hysteriaceae key I can find nothing that matches.

Help appreciated!
With regards,
Jenny
