Hello all, This Coprotus appeared on rabbit dung and the closest match I can find in the key to North American species seems to be Coprotus aurora. Apologies for very poor photos but is it possible to comment?
Apothecia very small, pinky-orange in colour. Spores simple with thick walls (immature?), (9)10-12(15) x (6)8-9(10) µm. Measured asci 55-65 x 12-15, paraphyses with only slightly swollen tips.
With regards,
Jenny

Re : Coprotus on rabbit dung
Hi all,
Norbert said, C. aurora is a rare species in Germany, but Thuringia is a part of our country too and here we found the fungus already 6 x, see the collage, and once more 1973 in the "Kyffhäuser mountains" (D. Benkert).
With the ripeness and a correspondending pressure escape the yellow content of the paraphyses and united to greater oil drops.
Greetings
Peter.
