Pyrenopeziza? on Pteridium
Marja Pennanen, 10-06-2014 11:51
Hello,

these grey ascos grow on Pteridium aquilinum stems and leaves.
They are up tp 0.3 mm wide.
The spores are about 7-9x2 and asci 30-40x4.

No of my sources know about Pyrenopezizas on ferns.

Re : Pyrenopeziza? on Pteridium
Hi Marja

the hairs remind me of Incrupila aspidii. Is it really Pteridium? Or Polystichum?

Dear Zotto,

IT is surely Pteridium. Collected these on a place, which I know very well.
Possibly Incrupila,how interesting!
Any Incrupila happens to be on my list of wanted findings.

Re : Pyrenopeziza? on Pteridium
This must be some kind of Mollisia.
I collected some more and I saw now the coloured roundish cells.
Those, that I supposed marginal cells are propably paraphyse-tips, that have stronger walls.

On the same leaves, I found now Microscypha arenula (new for me) and I suppose, that I looked in preparate microscope with bigger magnification them and the made a preparate of Mollisia  taking one with smaller magnification...
