Calycellina?
Marcus Yeo, 19-11-2013 23:35
I found this discomycete growing on decaying leaves of Acer campestreand possibly also other tree species.

Apothecia are cream with a brown base, sessile, < ca 0.5 mm wide. The excipulum is a textura angularis; marginal cells are elongated.

Asci are 65-90 x 6-7 µm, 8-spored, arising from croziers (I think). Apices stain red in IKI.

Spores are (9-)10-12(-13) x 2.5-3 µm, lacking oil bodies.

Paraphyses are 3-4 µm wide, with large cylindrical non-refractive VBs in upper part.

I think it's a Calycellina but I can't identify it to a particular species. Any help would be very
gratefully received.

Many thanks

Marcus
