Periconia sacchari ?
Ethan Crenson, 30-08-2019 06:02
A friend found this anamorph in Staten Island NYC and very kindly gave it to me for further research.  It was growing on grass, possibly Agrostis sp.  I'm reasonably sure it's Periconia. I ran it through the key on p. 345 of Ellis (Dematiaceous Hyphomycetes) and the result was P. sacchari.  Conidia are brown, minutely warted and measure 14-19 x 8-11µm.  The range (Brazil, Ghana, Puerto Rico, Sierra Leone) and host (Saccharum) given in Ellis aren't a perfect match. Perhaps someone can point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.
