Imperfect fungus n°2
Ralph Vandiest, 03-01-2014 10:42
Ralph VandiestHello,

I found this imperfect fungus on hardwood from unknown origine. Fruiting body up to 2mm long.  1-septate conidiospores 7-8 x 3-3,5 µm

Does anybody knows what this could be?

Regards,

Ralph

Re : Imperfect fungus n°2
This is an interesting fungus. It was identified by Brian Spooner as Isaria friesii. And we know the teleomorph (apothecia) which appears to fit the genus Calloriopsis.

Here a photo. We have quite a few collections on very diverse substrates including herbaceous.

Thanks Zotto for the hint. I wouldn't have made the link myself seeing the picture you added.

PS if you ever need some material from my findings... just let me know and I will send it to you

Regards,

Ralph

Re : Imperfect fungus n°2
Thanks, but I do not need. This fungus grows on still-attached substrate in 1-3 m above ground or more. Was this also the case with yours?

You can tell me the locality and date, that would be useful.

I don't know it anymore if the branch was still attached or not. Locality: Sint-Agatha-Rode (Belgium) GPS 50.769, 4.608  Lambert 166854 162029

PS on the link below you find more details about the locality and this finding

Thanks for this

Can you tell me the date of collection (not today as suggested by the data base).

Any herbarium number?

I found it on the 7th of dec. I have no herbarium n° yet. I will give it to someone who will deposit it in the BR in Meise.
