Claussenomyces cf "caeruleomarginata"?

Hello,

today found on attached brnach of apple tree in the field mark.

According to the provisionary key of Claussenomyces by Marson & Baral the nearest I come to is Cl. "caeruleomarginata", but apothecia are very dark.

The spores I have seen have only transverse septae, no longitudinal ones have been observed. Also no tendency to make ascoconidia have been seen.
I first have been thinking of Cl. xylophila, but for this species the spore size is too big, besides other differences.

Not ionomidotic.

I have no idea which Claussenomyces - or am I in the wrong genus?

P.S.: spore measurements x10, means 29,6 x 5,7 µm

thanks for help,
Andreas

Hallo Andreas,

vielleicht Durella, in Richtung D. connivens?

Schöne Grüße
Gernot

Re : Claussenomyces cf "caeruleomarginata"?

Hello Gernot,

thank for this - Durella is a genus I always forget, don't know why ....

And yes it should be Durella connivens, especially as I found in another apothecium spores with 38 and 41 µm length.

best regards and thanks,
Andreas

It will help to look on the ectal excipulum at flanks and margin, Durella is easily recognizable by the brown-olive text. porrecta. Spores of D. connivens should be 7-septate.
