Diatrype oder Eutypa
Harald Homa, 07-08-2018 11:07
Harald HomaHello everyone,

I'm new here in the forum and would like to present some pictures and data today. My first attempt at determination was Diatrype spilomaea, but from the circle of colleagues came the hint, it could be rather Eytypa leioplaca.
Since the find apparently contains no vital perithecia, I have tried to create a portrait with the available material.
Whether that is sufficient for a determination, I do not know. Here are the dates:

Location: lying maple branch in the NSG south of the castle Homburg
MTB: 5011/332 Date of discovery: 16.07.2018
Spores allantoid, hyaline, slightly ocher-tinged with oil droplets
7,6x1,3
6,4x1,4
5,2x1,6
6,4x1,5
7,3x1,6
6,6x1,6
6,4x1,5
6,1x1,6

More spurs
7,2x1,7
5,3x1,1
5,6x1,7
5,5x1,6
5,3x1,6

Remains of some asci found; all empty or without formed spores; no J reaction on the apical apparatus;
24,7x2,3
22,5x4,0
16,2x4,3
19,6x4,4
28,4x3,2
20,2x8,5
24,1x3,6

on ascofrance Fournier writes that Rappaz measured the spores of D. spilomea in BWB/lactic acid, and that by that
the measured values, especially the width, are smaller!

I would be glad if someone could help me to give the find a proper name.

Best Regards

Harald
