Orbilia on Diatrype
Marc Detollenaere, 14-03-2024 08:21
Marc DetollenaereDear Forum,

On Diatrype I found some small Orbilia-like fruitbodies . The end of the paraphyses were covered with resin.Asci measured 27x4µ. I only found a few spores 6x3µ.
Any suggestions?

I do not believe in these spores. Rather the asci are still immature and sparse.

Hans-Otto,

I also had some doubts about the spores as I didn't found any mature asci.
Could you tell me if the type of the strongly refractive amorphous exudate gives any information about the section?

Not rerally. Surely it is subgenus Orbilia. A possibility is section Arthrobotrys another is series Orbilia.
