Cup fungi on Abies balsamea
Khomenko Igor, 15-12-2023 17:25
Khomenko IgorHi, I'm completly lost with this cup fungi. This is drought-tolerant species and it was growing on recently dead Abies balsamea and has very small spores and asci. Observed in July-October on two uprooted trees.

Pictures: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/172752012

Apothecia 2-2.5mm in diameter, erumpent, with greyish hymenium.
Asci 8-spored, IKI-, *18-21x3.3-3.9um.
Ascospores only *4-5x0.6-0.8um, cylindrical, slightly bent, hyaline, smooth, eguttulate.
Paraphyses cylindrical, without VBs, if it was actually paraphyses.
Ectal excipulum brown, textura ?angular, covered with hairs with crystals.

Thanks in advance,
Igor

Re : Cup fungi on Abies balsamea
Despite the small asci and spores and (?)inamyloid asci I would identify Chlorociboria glauca (or a related species). The coniferous host could support a separate species.
