Leptosphaeria macrocapsa - Species Description
Peter Thompson, 16-05-2023 15:42
Hello Everyone,

I recently collected a sample of what I believed would be Phoma macrocapsa, growing on a dead stem of Mercuralis perennis (Dog's Mercury).

Instead, I found that I had collected a Leptosphaeria sample. L. macrocapsa being the most likely species on this host.

The reference in Species Fungorum = Stud. Mycol. 75 : 19 (2012) [2013] does not provide a species description.

I wonder if anyone has a copy of the species description / illustrations of the sexual state Leptosphearia macrocapsa, which I can compare with the sample that I collected.

Thank You,
With Best Wishes,
Peter.
