Re : Blue-green anamorph on hardwood
Hi Riet,

it could be the anamorph of Claussenomyces coeruleomarginatus.

Re : Blue-green anamorph on hardwood
Yes, the two links and Thorben's suggestion are all well or at least close. "Claussenomyces" coeruleomarginatus is in my prasinulus folder of Tympanidaceae, and I have there the idea that this provisional species could be the old Coryne virescens by Tulasne.

Guy usually collected the species on Salix, but Populus might also be possible and Tulasne say Alnus. Perhaps you can try to narrow the host to a family or genus using wood anatomy?

Perhaps the species is more related to Pragmopora, judging from BLAST in GenBank.

Thank you very much Thorben and Zotto for all the information!
Tomorrow I will try to find out the host using wood anatomy

Re : Blue-green anamorph on hardwood
Laurens thinks the wood is Cornus.

Just a try ...

Don't know if this is wood or bark.

Re : Blue-green anamorph on hardwood
Nice but this is clearly bark, already clear from macro. Bark I cannot determine from sections.
