Yes, the two links and Thorben's suggestion are all well or at least close. "Claussenomyces" coeruleomarginatus is in my prasinulus folder of Tympanidaceae, and I have there the idea that this provisional species could be the old Coryne virescens by Tulasne.
Guy usually collected the species on Salix, but Populus might also be possible and Tulasne say Alnus. Perhaps you can try to narrow the host to a family or genus using wood anatomy?
Perhaps the species is more related to Pragmopora, judging from BLAST in GenBank.

Nice but this is clearly bark, already clear from macro. Bark I cannot determine from sections.
